Vision and Values

Living, learning and growing together in God

At Parochial Church of England Primary School, our mission is clear:
To prepare children for the future by living, learning and growing together in God.

This mission is underpinned by the Christian principle found in John 10:10 — “to live life in all its fullness.”
We believe every child is created with unique potential and purpose. At Parochial, we nurture that potential so that every pupil can flourish – academically, spiritually, socially, and morally.

Our school community is built upon four key pillars, which shape our curriculum, culture, and daily life:

Growing in Knowledge, Skills and Wisdom

We want every child to become a confident, independent learner, ready to meet the challenges of the future. Through our rich and ambitious curriculum, we develop curious minds, critical thinkers, and life-long learners who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact.

Growing in Hope and Aspiration

We aim to inspire children to dream big and believe in themselves. We help them recognise their strengths, persevere through challenges, and understand that their future is full of possibilities. Through high expectations and a supportive environment, our children develop self-belief and determination.

Growing in Dignity and Respect

Every member of our school community is valued. We encourage all children to treat others with kindness, fairness, and compassion. Our inclusive ethos ensures that all voices are heard and all contributions are respected, helping to build strong character and mutual understanding.

Growing through Community and Living Well Together

We believe that we grow best when we grow together. Our pupils learn the importance of friendship, service, and responsibility within school and beyond. We foster a strong sense of belonging, where every child plays a part in building a positive and caring community.

British Values at Parochial

Our vision and values align closely with the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance. These values are woven throughout our curriculum and daily life, helping children understand their role in modern Britain and the wider world. As a Church of England school, we promote these principles through our Christian ethos, ensuring pupils grow into respectful, responsible citizens who live well together in community.

Together, these values reflect the heartbeat of our school.
They guide our decisions, shape our relationships, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow into the very best version of themselves.
