Maths
Maths
Children will be exploring shape (composing and decomposing), measure (volume and capacity), sorting and time. We will be working hard, learning in small groups and in the environment. Activities will be tailored to target learning objective of which align with our Power Maths Scheme.

Communication and Language
Children will enjoy sharing stories, role-playing holiday adventures, and exploring new vocabulary like luggage, abroad, and travel. They’ll join in discussions about their own holidays and listen to others, helping them build confidence in speaking and understanding.

Personal, Socal and Emotional Development
Personal, Socal and Emotional Development
Through stories and circle time, children will be identifying why exercise is important for physical and mental health, the children discuss ways to take care of themselves, learn how to be safe pedestrians and consider the importance of a balanced diet.

Physical Development
Children will develop coordination and skills through our Little Explorers topic which is provided by Active Tameside. Children will learn the importance of warm ups, team work and spatial awareness. Children will also experience many opportunities in class to strengthen their fine motor skills through cutting, weaving, pinching and threading.

Understanding The World
Children will learn about different countries, explore how people travel, and think about holidays in the past and present. They’ll also take part in Forest School trips to St. Gabriel’s garden, noticing changes in the natural world and seasonal patterns.

Expressive Art and Design
Expressive Art and Design
Inspired by the seaside and travel stories, children will create textured artwork, design luggage tags, and build vehicles using construction kits. They’ll sing travel-themed songs and enjoy imaginative play in the role-play airport and beach café.
