• Literacy
  Literacy

  Children will continue to learn to recognise and read their names. We will be reading the stories 'A Superhero like you', 'The Jolly Postman', 'Cops & Robbers' and 'Farmer Duck'. These stories include different types of job roles and people who help us in different ways.

• Maths
  Maths

  Through hands-on activities, children will explore numerals and number tracks, look at real world mathematical problems with numbers up to 5 during snack time, group time etc. They will be introduced to more than and fewer than and they will explore 2D and 3D shapes.

• Communication and Language
  Communication and Language

  Children will learn simple Makaton signs to help them communicate and to help retell stories. They will discuss their own feelings and the feelings of others. They will take part in circle time discussions, being encouraged to use other children's names and they will be encouraged to expand their vocabulary through key vocabulary activities. They will be introduced to new vocabulary through our 'Talk through stories' sessions.

• Personal, Socal and Emotional Development
  Personal, Socal and Emotional Development

  This half term, children will continue to be encouraged to be as independent as possible. Putting their coats on, zipping them up and also asking for help when they require it.

  Children will take part in team building games and be encouraged to initiate conversations with each other.

• Physical Development

  Children will continue to develop their fine motor skills through activities that encourage scooping, threading, building, squeezing and weaving.

  They will develop their gross motor skills by taking part in dough disco and squiggle whilst you wiggle sessions, they will also use scooters, balance bikes and footballs whilst outside.

• Understanding The World
  Understanding The World

  Children will learn all about the different people who help us in the community. We will have a visit from the Police who will explain their job role, talk about what children should do in an emergency or if they are lost and allow the children to try on the police uniform and equipment.

  Through their learning, children will understand that people are able to help us and what their roles are.

• Expressive Art and Design
  Expressive Art and Design

  Children will be given opportunities to explore and experiment with various materials and media to express their creativity and imagination. They will explore activities such as painting, drawing, engaging with music & dance and pretend play.

  They will develop their fine motor skills through activities such as cutting, sticking and using playdough.
