Literacy
Literacy
Children will continue to learn to recognise and read their names. We will be reading the stories 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', 'Tadpole's Promise', 'The Extraordinary Gardener' and 'The Wall & The Wild'. These stories are about life cycles and nature around us.

Maths
Maths
Through hands-on activities, children will use prepositions in real life contexts , use positional language to plan a 'route'. We will walk to the shops and discuss the route we planned, looking at familiar landmarks along the way. They will also make dens using loose parts, looking at shapes and how their properties suit the purpose.

Communication and Language
Communication and Language
Children will learn simple Makaton signs to help them communicate and to help retell stories. They will discuss their own feelings and the feelings of others. They will take part in circle time discussions, being encouraged to use other children's names and they will be encouraged to expand their vocabulary through key vocabulary activities. They will be introduced to new vocabulary through our 'Talk through stories' sessions.

Personal, Socal and Emotional Development
This half term, children will continue to be encouraged to be as independent as possible. Putting their coats on, zipping them up and also asking for help when they require it.
Children will take part in team building games and be encouraged to initiate conversations with each other.

Physical Development
Physical Development
Children will continue to develop their fine motor skills through activities that encourage scooping, threading, building, squeezing and weaving.
They will develop their gross motor skills by taking part in dough disco and squiggle whilst you wiggle sessions, they will also use scooters, balance bikes and footballs whilst outside.

Understanding The World
Understanding The World
Children will learn about the life cycle of a tadpole and a caterpillar. We will have our own caterpillars that we watch grow bigger, make a cocoon and then turn into butterflies. We will plant seeds and bulbs and watch them grow and discuss the changes we can see.

Expressive Art and Design
Expressive Art and Design
Children will be given opportunities to explore and experiment with various materials and media to express their creativity and imagination. They will explore activities such as painting, drawing, engaging with music & dance and pretend play.
They will develop their fine motor skills through activities such as cutting, sticking and using playdough.
