• Literacy
  Literacy

  Children will read and retell fun stories like Herman's Holiday and Steven Seagull. They’ll write postcards, and packing lists and practise writing their names. Their phonics sessions will keep going each day, helping them become more confident readers and writers.

• Maths
  Maths

  Through hands-on activities, children will explore linking numerals to amounts, looking at patterns from different cultures, describing & copying patterns and even creating their own patterns. Outdoor activities and group games will help bring their maths learning to life.

• Communication and Language
  Communication and Language

  Children will enjoy taking on different roles as they play in our campsite and discuss all the different things that happen when going on a camping trip. They’ll take part in lots of storytelling and group discussions, helping them grow in confidence when speaking and using new words.

• Personal, Socal and Emotional Development
  Personal, Socal and Emotional Development

  This half term, children will think about what makes them feel happy and safe on holiday and as they get ready for Reception. They’ll work together in teams, take turns in role play, and start to share their thoughts and feelings about moving on. They'll play turn taking games and practise speaking and listening to each other.

• Physical Development
  Physical Development

  Children will develop their fine motor skills through threading, using tweezers, cutting, and drawing. Outdoors, they’ll take part in travel-themed challenges like building an aeroplane out of crates and having boat races in the water tray. To develop gross motor skills, children will use balance bikes, take part in dough disco and Squiggle whilst you Wiggle sessions.

• Understanding The World
  Understanding The World

  Children will learn about different countries, the weather around the world, and how people travel. They’ll look at maps, globes, and photos to spark curiosity. Outdoors, they’ll notice seasonal changes and look at clouds and cloud formations.

• Expressive Art and Design
  Expressive Art and Design

  Children will create different forms of transport and holiday themed art pieces using different types of media. They’ll act out going on a camping adventure, build models of transport, and use instruments and body sounds to recreate seaside noises. There will be lots of chances to get creative and have fun.
